Prestonsburg, KY - Battle of Middle Creek

On January 10, 1862 a very important Civil War battle was fought at this spot in far eastern Kentucky. The Union would win thw day after a daring plan by Colonel James Garfield defeated the Confederates who would lose any hope of controlling Kentucky following the battle.

Huntington, WV - Spring Hill Cemetery

The cemetery holds a memorial to those who died in the Marshall University football plane crash on November 14, 1970. There were 75 victims, all associated with the university, 37 were players. 6 players were burned so badly from the massive fireball that they are buried together here.

This museum in a 100 hear old former elementary school has a fabulous collection of some VERY old radios (transistor, ham, CB, etc), TVs and all sorts of equipment from the past 100 uears plus. If you love seeing and touching these blasts from the past, the Museum of Radio & Technology is a must visit. In this clip, I sat with the type of equipment I used all the time during my early days in radio of the 1990s (that equipment was old even then)! Shout out to Lloyd McIntyre and his wife Patty who were manning the fort that day!
