The Oliver Miller Homestead is the place where the Whiskey Rebellion began July 15, 1794.
A federal inspector and federal marshal showed up to collect the tax, were turned away and shots were fired.
The next day, tensions escalated at nearby Bower Hill where the tax inspector John Nevile had his mansion burned to the ground and two of the rebels (Miller included were killed)
